SPI (Society of Publishers in Ireland)
is a networking society for all those
working in the publishing trade and
related industries. It will provide an excellent opportunity to socialise,
make contacts and share information
with wide variety of people. SPI's
aim is to provide a forum for informal
discussion, to encourage
understanding between those
involved in diverse aspects of the
industry and to foster business and
social partnerships through meetings,
parties, exhibitions and other events.

SPI was founded in 2002. It is run
voluntarily, as a non-profit-making
organisation, by a committee drawn
from various professions within the
trade. Our philosophy is simple:
giving people the chance to meet
each other at informal social events
will promote greater understanding
throughout the industry and encourage
a sense of cohesion and cooperation
across the board. It will also, we hope, make working in the industry even more enjoyable.

SPI will succeed only if it receives the
support of all those involved in the
book trade, their interest and their
participation. Please send us your
thoughts, opinions and suggestions
for events.
